Dr. Lorenzo Sabug, Jr.

Lorenzo Sabug, Jr. earned a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from RWTH Aachen in 2016, with work on “Computational Control and Protection Methods for Multi-Terminal HVDC Systems”. From 2016 to 2019, he was part of the team that developed the Philippine microsatellite Diwata-2 (PO-101), operational in orbit since 2018. He obtained the Ph.D. (cum laude) in systems and control at Politecnico di Milano on February 14th, 2023, working at SAS-Lab on the dissertation “On data-driven optimization in the design and control of autonomous systems”, in collaboration with profs. Lorenzo Fagiano and Fredy Ruiz.
