Marco Leonesio graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2001, where, after 20 years, he joined the Executive Ph.D. program in Information Technology (Systems and Control). Since 2008, he is permanent researcher at CNR-STIIMA (Institute of Intelligent Industrial Technologies and Systems for Advanced Manufacturing), where he carried out research in the field of production technologies and systems, being responsible of STIIMA mechatronic lab. He participated to several national and European projects (from 5FP to H2020), leading tasks concerned with machinery design and process optimization. In the framework of his Ph.D., he wants to develop control systems for industrial processes, exploiting hybrid machine learning and physic-based modeling approaches.
