Andrea Gottardini was born in Milan, Italy, in 1999. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in September 2021 and a Master of Science degree with honors (cum Laude) in July 2024, both in Automation and Control Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano.
His Master’s thesis focused on the development and testing of a data-driven model predictive control system for autonomous excavator functions. The research was conducted at the Bosch Centre for Artificial Intelligence over an eight-month period in Renningen, Germany.
In 2022, he spent a semester at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) as an Erasmus exchange student.
From March 2023 to September 2023, he worked as a Development Engineer Intern at Porsche in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany), within the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Integration Department for Taycan and Cayenne models.
In September 2024, he began his PhD in Information Technology at Politecnico di Milano, specializing in Systems and Control. His current research focuses on the modeling and control of cell cultures through image processing and learning-based control methods.
