Alessandro Cappellari obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Padova and a master’s degree in Robotics and Mechatronics from the University of Twente. His master’s thesis focused on the development of an automatic robotic ultrasound scanning system that combined deep learning, computer vision and advanced control on a robotic manipulator. From February 2025 to January 2026, he gained industrial experience working on drones, motorsport systems, and autonomous robotic platforms in Zurich, Turin, and Treviso.

Since February 2026, he is pursuing a PhD at Politecnico di Milano under the supervision of Prof. Lorenzo Fagiano and Prof. Alessandro Croce (Department of Aerospace Science and Technology @ Politecnico di Milano). His PhD project is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action AWETRAIN, and focuses on Fully Autonomous AWE operation over Long Time Horizons.
